"Slowing down with clay"

CLAY WORKSHOPS
Working with my hands and this earthly material have taught me to slow down. I see this creative process as an act of mindfulness that asks for attention and patience bringing you back to the present moment.
These workshops offer the space for you to experience the power of the "Slow art of clay" yourself.

During this workshop you will be shown hand building techniques that have been used since the beginning of time. This way you will be using just your hands to make your own ceramic creations in a simple and satisfying way.
Whether you want to make a set of cups, a plate, bowl or candle holder, you are free to decide, you are the artist!
​
All creative levels are welcome and there is no previous clay experience needed.

YOUR CLAY CREATIONS
During the workshop we will focus on hand-vorm all pieces, later on in the slow clay process a transparant glazing will be applied. We will be creating with a white stoneware clay with a little brown speckle, the clay and glazes are food safe.
After 8-10 weeks you receive your clay pieces back completely finished and ready to use in your daily life.

INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP:

3 hour hand-building workshop.
~
You will be shown basic hand-building techniques, for shaping cups/bowls/little vase or a plate.
~
Create 2 smaller pieces (cups) 1 larger (bowl or little vase), 1 plate pp.
~
There will be the option of two different clay types with a natural our colourful glazing as a finish.
~
Materials, glazing, 2x firing, tools for 3 clay pieces included in the workshop fee.
~
Warm drinks & snack will be served

Receive your pottery at home send to you carefully packed.

L O C A T I O N
The workshop is hosted in the collective studio from two other local creatives in a former school building in Voorburg next to The Hague.
The location is easily accessible with public transport and free parking is available.

The atmosphere was very cozy and allowed me to concentrate and relax fully which is not so available in the daily routine....
