Service Description

START THE NEW YEAR SLOW with your both hands in the clay. "Clay Hand-building workshop" Working with my hands and this earthly material have taught me to slow down. I see this creative process as an act of mindfulness that asks for attention and patience bringing you back to the present moment. These workshops offer the space for you to experience the power of the "Slow art of clay" yourself. ​During this workshop you will be shown hand-building techniques that have been used since the beginning of time. This way you will be using just your hands to make your own ceramic creations in a simple and satisfying way. We will be creating a set of 2 cups/mugs with a stoneware clay. ​All levels are welcome to join this handbuilding workshop where you will experience the joy and fulfilment of working with your hands and this earthy material (no pottery wheel needed). ​At the end of the workshop all pieces will undergo a transformational process, "the slow clay". Starting with the slowly drying off the clay, bisque firing, glazing, followed by the final firing. INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP: ~ 1,5 hour handbuilding workshop ~ You will be shown basic hand-building technique ~ Create your set of cups/mugs ~ We will create with a white stoneware clay with a transparant glaze that will be applied later in the process. ~ Materials, glazing, 2x firing, tools for 2 clay pieces included in the workshop fee (creating one extra piece for an additional 10,-) ~ Warm drinks & snack will be served ~ Receive your pottery at home send to you carefully packed W O R K S H O P D E T A I L S 13:00 - 14:30 H Single ticket in group workshop 89,- pp. Max participants 8.
